SELECTION IN AUCKLAND MALE APPLICANTS PREDOMINATE [Per United Press Association.] AUCKLAND, December 22. Notices were issued to-day by the Auckland Education Board to approximately 170 students in the Auckland district intimating selection for entrance to the teachers’ training college in the new year. The board’s quota for 1939 is 228, and 58 students for admission have yet to be chosen from the balance of the 3CO applicants, which is approximately 190. For the first time on record male applicants outnumber females.
