MOSGIEL SCHOOL COMMITTEE

There was a full attendance of members at the monthly meeting 'of the Mosgiel District High School Committee. Rev. Captain L. Jones presided. A letter was read from the Otago Education Board that members would pay a visit of inspection to the school and property at an early date. • The Secretary reported that he had replied to a reguest from the board that £132 10s was the approximate cost of proposed work on the new' recreation area. The Rector reported on the arrangements made for the garden party to be held next Friday in aid of improvements to the new school recreation area. There would be an exhibition of school work, drill display, sports, competitions. stalls, dips, and afternoon tea. The afternoon function would commence at 2.30.

The Department of Health notified that the dental clinic would close from December 24 to January 23. In connection with the fees for treatment at the clinic, it was pointed out that many were overdue. In view of this fact it was resolved that dental notices be sent out at the commencement of each year, and if not paid by the end of the, first term treatment was to cease. , , The Taieri Swimming Club notified that the pupils of the school could have the use of the baths for water polo once a month.
