ANGLO-ITALIAN AGREEMENT
BEGINNING OF NEW ERA MR CHAMBERLAIN'S VISIT TO ROME (British Official Wireless.) Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright RUGBY, November 29. (Received November 30, at 11,30 a.m.) Welcoming the announcement that Mr Chamberlain and Lord Halifax are to pay a visit to Rome during the Parliamentary recess, 1 The Times ’ says the Anglo-ltalian agreement is manifestly the beginning of a new era as well as the closing of 'an old one, and Mr Chamberlain and Lord Halifax are going to inaugurate it with Signor Mussolini in person. ‘ The Times ’ continues: “ When the British Ministers reach Rome there will be much to discuss, notably Spain and colonial collaboration. Spain is certainly a case where the views of Italy and Britain are not identical, but that is all the more reason for talking them over, and if the talks have a successful outcome they will undoubtedly not be of benefit to Britain and Italy alone.’-’
