The Nairobi correspondent of ‘ The Times * says that - the Governor intervened in a debate in which the Legislature uniformly supported a motion viewing with perturbation the position in Kenya and Tanganyika, asking the Imperial Government for an unequivocal- assurance on the matter. The Governor declared that, though he and his associates had strong views, there were regular channels through which opinions could be conveyed to England, and he must instruct the officials to vote against the motion in the event of a division.
