FATAL ARC?
POWER WORKS OPERATOR KILLED [Per United P»'«is Association.] VVAIROA, July 4. While working at tiie power sub-sta-tion at Onepoto at the outlet of Lake Waikareraoana on Saturday, Edward Tizzard, first station operator at Waikaremoana hydro-electric works, collapsed and died shortly after. It is not known definitely what happened, but it is surmised that he was electrocuted. He was seen standing near one of the conductors by a companion, W. A. S. Surridge, who, on hearing an arc, dragged him aw.’v by the coat taxis and applied artificial respiration without success. . Hazard, a married man with one child' had been engaged on the Waikaremoana scheme for about 10 years. He resided at Tuai. , , An inquest was opened and adjourned sine die.
