COLLISION WITH BUS

MOTORIST SENT TO GAOL [Per United Press Association.] WELLINGTON, July 4. A collision which occurred in Hutt road on Saturday evening between a railway bus and a motor ear had its sequel in the Magistrate’s Court to-day, when Owen Bruce Carter (50), a farm labourer, pleaded guilty to intoxication while in charge of a car, and also to driving without a license. Accused was proceeding from town to Featherston, and swerved on a straight part of the road near the overhead bridges. He struck a bus, and with his front wheels shattered continued for 234 ft before coming to a stop. On the intoxication charge he was sentenced to 14 days with hard labour.
