FRESH NOMINATIONS FOR BALLOT [Pee United Peess Association.] CHRISTCHURCH, July 3. Fresh nominations, to close nest Saturday, have been called for a ballot to decide the National Party’s candidate in the Mid-Canterbury electorate; Among them is expected to be that of Mr A. N. Grigg, of “ Surrey Hills,” one of the best-known pastoralists of the Dominion. It is stated, although no official announcement was forthcoming from the Ashburton branch of th* National Party, that Mr Grigg has already been approached, and that it is considered likely that his nomination will be made this week. Mr A. A. M'Donald, president of th* Mid-Canterbury Executive of the National Party, said to-day that it wat correct that fresh nominations had been called, and that the closing date had been set for nest Saturday.
