A STAGGERING STATEMENT.

TO THE EDITOB. Sir,—l am writing to thank “ Also Disgusted ” for his congratulations to me for my letter under the above heading. In it 1 drew pointed attention to three promises made by our socialistic Government, and stated that none of its supporters could deny that they had been broken. As ‘‘ Also Disgusted ” has not attempted to show that my statement was incorrect, it shows that I was on safe ground when 1 challenged anyone to deny it. The statement was a definite one, and it is no use for your correspondent to shirk the issue in the way he has done. Did members of the present Government, prior to the election, make the three promises referred to in my previous letter? Have they kept any of them? That is the question. Now, then, “ Also Disgusted,” toe the mark, and then, and only then, I may be in a position to congratulate you on not throwing out any more smoke screens.—l am, etc.. Disgusted. June 3.
