MONTHLY MEETING ""Chief A. M'Lennan occupied the chair .at the monthly meeting of the Gaelic Society of New Zealand, held last evening in the Returned Soldiers’ Association rooms. Chieftains W. H. M'Leod, R. M'Lean, C. Macdonald, \V. Keith Cameron, T, Stuart, A. M'Kenzie, and A. Matheson supported In his opening remarks the Chief cordially welcomed to the meeting all visitors from the country. He referred to the successful gathering of Highlanders at Cave, andT the important part taken by the Gaelic Society Choir. The chief also congratulated Chieftain Treasurer W. H. M'Leod op his success at the Otago Hospital and Charitable-Aid Board election. The programme submitted was a characteristic one, the following taking part God Save the King,’ in Gaelic, choir; songs—‘ Mairi Mhim Mhean— Shaaileach,’ and ‘ Gin Gilo mo Leannan,’ choir; songs, ‘ Scotland Yet ’ and ‘My Heart is Sair,’ Miss Darracott; dance. Highland reel Lorraine M‘Pherson, Shirley M'Phcrson, Eileen Bevin, and Lola Robertson; Gaelic song, ‘ An t’alltan dubh,’ Mr K. Parker; sword dance, J. Flett; Gaelic songs—‘ M’Ribhinn Donn,’ ‘ Air fal-al-aT O.’ Mrs A. MTvor; pipe selection. Piper Waldie; songs, ‘ Theid mi a’ad amharc,’ and. ‘ Bruthaichean Ghluin Braoin,’ choir; songs, ‘Angus Macdonald-’ and ‘The Lass of Geil.’ Mrs A. Matheson ; dance, reel o’ Tulloch — Lorraine M'Pherson, Shirley M'Pherson, Eileen Bevin, and Lola Robertson; songs. ‘ Bonnie Wee Thing ’ and ‘My Love Is Like a Red, Rod Rose,’ Mr Paris; Gaelic song, ‘ Gradh Geol mo chridhe ’ and 1 An t’Eilean Muileach,’ Mrs A. M'Lennan; dance, seauntreus, Lorraine M'Pherson; recitations, ‘ M'Allister Danced Before the King ’ and ‘ Nighean Donn,’ Chief A. M'Lennan ; pipe selection, Piper Waldie. Miss George and Mrs A. Matheson played the accompaniments, and Pipers Waldie and Macphersou supplied the national music for Miss Daphne Allan’s pupils. A hearty vote of thanks, moved by Chieftain W. H. M'Leod, brought the function to a close.
