GERMANY’S DEBTS
RUMOURS OF DEFAULT DENIED BY SIR JOHN SIMON (British Official Wireless.) . Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright RUGBY, June 3. (Received June 4, at 11.30 a.m.) Asked in the House of Commons if he could state whether Germany intended to default on her external debt, Sir John Simon (Secretary of State) replied: “So far as I am aware there is no foundation for the rumour referred to recently in certain newspapers that Germany intends to default on her external debt as it existed prior to the incorporation of Austria into the German Reich.”
