OTAGO HARBOUR BOARD.

TO TUB EDITOB. Sir, —In common with other members of the Harbour Board, I am sincerely sorry that Mr David Copland was not re-elected Mr Copland is “a honnie fechter,” and, while I disagree _ with him in certain respects, his intimate knowledge of the conditions of■ (loading and discharge on the waterfront has been of much value to the board and to the community. May I therefore respectfully suggest to Mr Robert Walls, who has been somewhat overwhelmed with public honours, that he would be doing good service to himself, the Harbour Board, and the importers and shippers if he were to resign and allow Mr Copland, who is so well qualified, to be appointed in his place? Another election would nob be required.—l am, etc., John B, Waters. May 13.
