ANCIENT CUSTOM FOLLOWED LONDON, April 29. The Earl of Buckinghamshire, who •tudiedl farming in Australia as a youth, has changed his surname, by Royal license, from Hobart-Hampden Mercer-Henderson, to Mercer-Hender-son. The earl is a descendant of the Puritan patriot John Hampden. He succeeded his father os licensee of the Hampden Arms Inn, Great Hampden, where, in accordance with custom, he must draw beer for customers once a year.
