MUSIC IN VIENNA
CAFES AND RESTAURANTS MORE MARCHES PLAYED. VIENNA, April 29. Fewer characteristic Viennese waltzes and more marches are being played in Vienna cafes and restaurants or broadcast by wireless. A broadcasting official stated that there was no intention to cut out Viennese waltzes, though, probably, Lehar and Strauss would he less frequently included. “ We encourage new works, giving preference, of course, to Aryan composers,” he said.
