MOVEMENTS. —Coastal. — Kairaai left Westport on Thursday for Bluff and Dunedin. She is due hero to-morrow, and will sail the same day for Timaru, Lyttelton, and Westport. Holmdale is to sail this evening for Oamaru, Timaru, Lyttelton, Wellington, Picton, and Wanganui. Karu was to leave Wellington to-day for Dunedin direct, and is due here on. Thursday to load and sail the same day 'for Wellington, Nelson, and New Plymouth via ports. Waimarino will return from Bluff to-morroW to load and sail the same day for Timaru, Lyttelton, Wellington, and Auckland. Waipahi is to sail this evening for Wellington, Napier, and Gisborne via ports. , Wainui left Auckland on Friday for Wellington, Lyttelton, Dunedin, and Oamaru, and is due here on Thursday next. She will sail the, following day for Auckland via ports. Holmglen is due on Thursday to load and sail the following day for Wellington, New' Plymouth, and Waikato via Timaru and Lyttelton. Breeze is due at Port -Chalmers on Friday ■ from Wellington to dock for cleaning and painting., Port Whangarei is due to-morrow to load and sail the same day for Auckland, Tauranga, and Whangarei via Timaru and Lyttelton. —Overseas.— Naumburg sailed this afternoon for Port Kembla. Mahia will sail about Saturday for Lyttelton. Doric Star will sail to-morrow for New Plymouth to complete. Empire Star will sail to-morrow afternoon for Timaru.

Canadian Challenger will sail at daylight to-morrow for Bluff. Aravva arrived at Wellington from London ,on April 21, and sailed for Lyttelton and Port Chalmers. She will arrive at this port to-morrow morning, and will sail for New Plymouth and Wellington. ■ Olivebank is due at Lyttelton on Saturday next from Nauru Island, and will proceed thence to Ravensbourne, where she is due on Monday, and Dunedin, with a cargo of phosphate. Fordsdale left Liverpool on March 26 for Auckland, Wellington, Lyttelton, Port Chalmers, and New Plymouth. She is expected here on Saturday next. Clydebank left Vancouver on March 20, San Francisco on April 6, and Los Angeles on April 14 for Auckland, Wellington, Lyttelton, and Dunedin. She was due at Auckland yesterday, and is expected here on May 25. City of Mobile left New York on April 8 for Auckland, Wellington, Lyttelton, and Dunedin.. She is due at Auckland on Thursday next and here about May 26.

Antigone left Liverpool, Nova Scotia, on March 22 with newsprint for discharge at Auckland, Whangarei, New Plymouth, Wanganui, Wellington, Lyttelton, Timaru, and Dunedin. She arrived at Auckland on May 1, and is due here on May 28. Port Jackson left London on April 7 for Suva, Lyttelton, Dunedin, and Bluff. She is due at Lyttelton on May 18, and here on May 22. Port Wyndham left New York on May 1 for Auckland, Wellington, Lyttelton, and Dunedin. She is due at Auckland on June 5, and ,here on June 19.

The interisland express steamer Ilangatira arrived at Lyttelton from Wellington at 6.45 this morning. Passengers and mails for the south connected with the express. OBITUARY. * CAPTAIN C. G. TURNER. Advice has been received in Dunedin that Captain C. G. Turner, who was iu command of the Sleight Line vessel James Cook, died suddenly in Sydney, whore the vessel was berthed on Sunday. Captain Turner was formerly employed by R. S. Lamb and Co. LONDON’S SHIPPING. During the week ended April 8 1,136 vessels, representing 1,139,128 net register tons, used the Port of London. Of these 506 vessels (921,316 net register tons) were to and from Empire and foreign ports ami 630 vessels (217,812 net register tons) were engaged in coastwise traffic. The arrivals included eight meat cargoes—four from Australia. two from New Zealand, and two from South America, comprising 331,000 carcasses of land) and mutton, 131,000 quarters of beef, quantities of pork, rabbits. and sundries. Thirty-nine vessels, totalling 364,673 gross register tons, used the Tilbury landing stage during the month of March.

DUSKY SOUND BEACON. The beacon on Station Island, Dusky Sound flat., 45deg 46min S.; Ion"., RiOdeg 38min E., approx.), no longer exists, and is to be expunged from charts 719-20 and 2,589. TAMAROA’S “ALL WELL.” The Shaw Savill Company has received a radio message from the liner Tamaroa, which left Wellington on April 27 for Southampton and Loudon, reporting that all are well on board.
