DEATH FROM INJURIES

ADJOURNED INQUEST RESUMED The adjourned inquest into the dlath of Ernest Leslie Davidson Little, aged .‘lO, an employee of the Hillside Workshops, was concluded this morning, before Mr J. 11. Bartholomew, S.M, Death had been the result of injuries occasioned when a car in which he was a passenger collided witii a telegraph polo in Highgato on March 27. Mr G. V Murdock appeared on behalf of Mrs Little and Mr J. P. Ward watched proceedings in the interests of the driver of the car. Sergeant Lean conducted the case for the police. Oliver Lewis M'Leau. the driver of the car. said he was a fellow worker of the deceased’s. On March 27 ho offered to drive deceased home. The car was proceeding along Highgate when a pronounced camber on the surface of the road caused the car to veer from its straight running. The hubcap grazed a telegraph pole and portion of a spring was broken. The car veered towards tho footpath, but witness returned it to the centre of the road. When he looked round to speak to his companion, the latter was unconscious in the back seat. Deceased was at once taken to tho Hospital, where death occurred. Evidence was also given by Detective George Taylor, Constable Watts, and James A. Crighton. Dr J. L. Wright testified as to the cause of death, which he said was a sub-arach-uard haemorrhage following head injuries received when the motor car struck the telegraph pole.

The Coroner returned a verdict in accordance with the medical evidence.
