EXPELLED FROM AUSTRIA RESCUED BY FRENCH TUG Pres* Association —By Telegraph—Copyright LONDON, April 20. (Received April 21, at 12.25 p.m.) , The ‘ Daily Telegraph’s’ Prague correspondent says a French Danube tug, with Hungarian permission, rescued the Jews marooned on the breakwater in mid-Danube. Tho Jewish community in Bratislava immediately sent blankets, food, and other comforts to the refugees, who will remain on the tug pending an international agreement re•garding their future. Meanwhile Nazi storm troops again arrested 25 other Jews, originally members of the party, arid lodged them in an improvised prison at Kittsee, where the villagers protested against their illtreatment, so the Nazis removed them to an unknown destination. [A previous message stated: Hearing cries from the mid-river breakwater of the Danube, citizens of Theben found an aged rabbi and 51 Austrian Jews of all ages and both sexes, who disclosed that storm troopers had expelled them from Austria, despite their long-stand-ing citizenship, and had dumped them without food or overcoats on the breakwater. The Czechs fed and housed them, but the authorities declined to harbour them, for which reason they were pushed across the Hungarian frontier, only to be refused refuge. They are thus homeless, as the Nazis will not allow them to return to Austria.]
