HEW ZEALAND'S WITHDRAWAL POSITION TO BE RECONSIDERED [Per United Press Association.] AUCKLAND, February 24. Although it was recently announced from Wellington that in view of the fact that A. 0. Stedman was not available, New Zealand’s entry would be withdrawn from the Davis ‘Cup, it is understood that the matter has not finally been disposed of. The Management Committee of the New Zealand Lawn Tennis Association will meet in Wellington early next week, when a final decision will he arrived at. It is learned that there is a proposal to send D. O. Coombe and A. D. Brown to join C. E. Malfroy to make-up the New, Zealand team. fIUIST TD PLAY STEDMAN [Per United Press Association.] WELLINGTON, February 24, The ' New- Zealand and Wellington Lawn Tennis Associations have _ arranged for a series of exhibition matches to be played by Adrian Quist, the Australian Davis Cup player, at Miramar, on March 5. The exhibition is to consist of five sets of singles and five sets of doubles. A. C. Stedman will be Quist’s opponent in the singles, but the players in the doubles have not yet been selected. AUSTRALIAN AT CHRISTCHURCH At Wilding Park to-morrow afternoon Quist will meet Angas in a, singles match, and later noth H. A. Barnett he will meet Angas and Dymond in doubles.
