OTAGO TOURNAMENT In perfect weather the tournament reached, its semi-final and final stages this morning, three finals being played off this afternoon. In the semi-final of the level singles, between Mrs Rankin aud Mrs Gibson, the former opened by making a good break to 4 back. Play was then in and out till Mrs Gibson, after making 1 back, went boundary, giving her ■ opponent an excellent chance, from which, however, she made only 1 hoop. At a later stage Mrs Rankin made another break of 6 going to rover and lying for her other ball at 4 back. After making rover with blue, Mrs Rankin, in crossing over to black, accidentally put blue on the peg. ■ Mrs Gibson' got in again with a long roquet, hut made only 1 hoop. Her opponent picked lip'with, a long roquet and went with her black ball from 4 back to the peg, finishing 23-11. The final, of the A-grade handicap singles will be . played between Mrs Rankin, of Logan Park, and Mrs Robertson,, of W.atea. Mrs Jelley, of. Cromwell, has reached the final in section 1 of the B grade championship, . and. now waits to play the finalist in section 2. This should he an interesting game, but cannot be played off. until. tormorrow. Mrs Henry, of St. Clair, played off in the final of section 1 of the B grade handicap singles against Mrs Robinson, of Invercargill.
