Following a plea of guilty by William M'Reynolds, a ship’s fireman (29), to being found in possession of housebreaking instruments by, night .at Paraparaumu on November 17, the Crown, in the Supreme Court to-day, withdrew the ■ case against William Henry Roberts, a cleaner (54), Stuart Aid-red, a taxi driver' (32), who were jointly charged with M‘Reynolds. Roberts and Aldred were discharged after a formal verdict of not guilty by the jury, and M’Eeynolds was sentenced by Sir Michael Myers to 18 months’ hard labour, to be concurrent with the sentence of three years’ hard labour which was passed on Friday for breaking, entering, and theft.
