Miss Jean Macfarlane, who is under engagement to the National Broadcasting Service, left for Christchurch by this morning’s train. Mr Sydney Mac Ewan left by car this morning on his way to Wellington to fulfil further broadcasting engagements. Lord Charles Dormer, fifteenth Baron Dormer, arrived at Auckland by tha Rangitiki from London on Saturday to spend about, a mouth touring the Dominion by motor car. Lord Dormer was in the same regiment as the Go-vernor-General (Viscount Galway), and for part of his visit he will be tha guest of His Excellency. Lord Dormer* who, is aged 34 years, is one of the comparatively few Catholic peers, and he expressed considerable interest in the forthcoming centenary celebrations ■of the Catholic Church in New Zealand.
