ST. CLAIR TRAMWAY PAVILION.

TO TUX EDITOR. Sir, —I would like to congratulate Mr Richards and his staff on the beautiful colour scheme which is being carried but at the above building, also the despatch with which the work is being, carried out. Dunedin is fortunate in having such energetic men at the 'head of things. I spend a good deal of my leisure hours on the beach, and take an interest in all things pertaining to it, land on inquiry I was told that the band rotunda is not being done. These two buildings are one, and surely the council will not spoil a good job .by leaving the band stand out.. One will laugh at the other. I am sure the Tramways Committee could find the few extra pounds to complete this work, especially, in view of our carnival coming off shortly. If this work is left now it will be years before it is done, and then we shall have two half-finished jobs again. I strongly urge all beach-lovers to try to have this work completed/ in one piece. lam sure the council will me;et us in this matter.; —I am, etc., Foebuey Road. February 12.
