FOOD AND HEALTH

VISITING LECTURERS The campaign conducted by Mr Edward Julius Price and Mrs Maureen Morris Price continues to attract attention. On Thursday night crowds were turned away from the Concert Chamber, when addresses for women only were given. Advertisements announce further meetings for next week, in the Early Settlers’ Hall on Monday night, for men only, and on Tuesday night in the same hall, for women only. Mr and Mrs Price are unusual in their advocacy of meat eating, which usually is frowned on by advocates of diet reform. They state they were cured by a radical change in their eating habits, changes more revolutionary than the customary teaching of the vegetarian advocate. The chief tenet of these health lectures is that humanity has physical ailments chiefly duo to eating many things which are not foods and to not eating many essential elements found in a wide variety of products that have not been processed or manufactured._ Mr Price states be has given demoai■trations of endurance several times since he was 55 years of age, proving that he was younger physically than lie was 20 years previously. Mrs Price also contends that natural methods cured her of diabetes and Bright’s disease, and that her freedom from illness is due to her rational living habits.

Mr Price says he has had donations totalling £15,000 from English, American, and Australian philanthropists in appreciation of his lecturing camuaign on behalf of personal responsibility.
