CENTENNIAL CELEBRATIONS
INTERNATIONAL SCOUT JAMBOREE PLANNED [Pee United- Press Association.] WELLINGTON, November 26. In conjunction with New Zealand’s centennial celebrations in 1940 the International Scout Jamboree will be held in Wellington if a satisfactory site is available. This was made today at the annual meeting of the Dominion Council of the Boy Scouts’ Association of New Zealand. It was reported that a suitable site had been found at the back of the Trentham racecourse, consisting of 75 acres of open park land and served by excellent facilities. Application for the use of the property will be before the Racing Club after a deputation has waited on Aliuisters to ask assistance in the matter of finance from the Health.
