•—Ministerial.— The Minister of Health and of Education (Hon. Peter Fraser) will' arrive from the north by the night express on Monday morning to officially, open the Queen Mary Maternity Hospital in the afternoon. The Minister will leave for the north on Tuesday morning. . The Director of Broadcasting (Professor James Shelley) and the chief engineer of the National Broadcasting Service (Mr J. R. Smith) arrived this morning from Invercargill. They attended to broadcasting business to-day, and are to leave for the north ■ to-mor-row morning. A Press Association cable message from Melbourne states that Lady Kingston! Smith, widow of Sir Charles Kingsford Smith, is to be married shortly to Mr Allan Tully, chief executive in Australia and New Zealand of the Ethyl Corporation. Captain A. Bongard. M.C., N.Z.S.C.y has arrived in Dunedin to take over the duties of area staff officer, No. H Area, replacing Major K. L. Stewart, 0.8. E., N.Z.S.C., who was transferred to Christchurch some time ago. Captain A. W. Greville* N.Z.S.C., has been acting staff officer since the departure of Major Stewart. Mr G. A. Lewin, while visiting Wellington last week, was attacked by illness which necessitated his entering a hospital fox- treatment. He has made a steady recovery, and hopes to return to Dunedin early next week. Dr William Young and Misses Edith! Penelope Tennant and Jean Trotter have been appointed members of the Nurses and Midwives’ Registration Board, says a Wellington Press Association telegramThe conference at Timaru of the Associated Chambers of Commerce, on the motion of the president (Mr C.
