There have heen no tangible developments with , regard to the threatened strike of coal miners since the compulsory conference, early in the week, which, as already cabled, adjourned until, next Tuesday. All the Broken Hill Proprietary pits are at present .idle, the men having refused to work" since the stay-in strikes. Sectional strikes are still in progress in pits elsewhere. The coalowners have been holding conferences every day on their proposed counter log to the miners’ claims. The miners’ executive, which has. also met frequently since Monday, has decided that, if the owners’ proposals are considered unreasonable, work shall cease throughout the. State and that coal from Queensland _ shall be declared “ black.” They point out that all preparations have been completed for a general stoppage „of work next week in’the event of the negotiations with the owners collapsing on Tuesday.
