BRILLIANT LEGAL DRAMA
REPERTORY SOCIETY'S * LIBEL ’ Of tho many productions staged by the Dunedin Repertory Society ‘ Libel,’ now being presented at His Majesty s Theatre, must take a foremost place in tho list of successful plays. Admirably staged, well cast, and faultlessly produced, ‘ Libel ’ provides excellent entertainment. The play itself is exciting, and builds up to a most effective climax. Tho three acta are staged in a King’s Bench court, and it is in the bright dialogue and ingenious plot that it attracts attention. The play, its author himself a judge, bears the stamp of a most workmanlike approach to tho many difficulties involved in such U form of presentation. As Sir Mark Loddon Mr F. ft. Avent strolled away with the honours of the play, although Miss Anita Winkel was not far behind. Mr Alex. M'Dowell was well cast as the leader for the plaintiff, while Mr Richard White took every opportunity afforded by his delightful lines as leader for the defence. Other players included Miss Sybil Henderson, and Messrs Douglas Skene, S. G. Lock, Ernest Griffin, and Leslie Jack. The play will _ho staged to-night and tomorrow night.
