YOUNG FARMERS

ANNUAL EDUCATIONAL WEEK PROGRAMME OF ARRANGEMENTS The fifth .annual educational course for young farmers will be held in Dunedin next week, and will be attended by nearly 200 young farmers from various districts in Canterbury, Southland, and Otago. ' ■ About half those attending the course are members of young farmery’ clubs in the provinces mentioned, the others coming from districts where no clubs have yet been established. The course has been arranged by Mr A. C. Cameron, and he has been assisted by branch executives and members of the Farmers’ Union. Women’s Division, and young farmers’ clubs. The opening meeting will be held next Monday evening in the It.S.A., when Mr Will Thomas, M.A., the ex-rector of the Timaru Boys’ High School, will address the lads on the subject of ‘ Our Heritage as Britishers.’ During the week lectures will be given by Dean Cruickshank, Sir Louis Barnett, Dr Vernon Griffiths, Mr John Harris, and Professor Hercus. Visits -will be made to some of the leading industries in the city, and on Wednesday afternoon Professor Jack has arranged for an interesting series of electrical demonstrations in the physics department of the University. Mr H. D. Skinner, M.A., wilt give the visitors a talk about some of the Maori exhibits in the University Museum, and Mr 11. H. Ncilson has undertaken to make the visit to the Art Gallery as' interesting ns possible. ■ One special feature of the week will be that the lads will bo able to attend a number of sessions of the sixth conference of the Now Zealand Grassland Association, when lectures will be given by leading Dominion agricultural scientists.

AH arrangements are iu the hands of Mr A. C. Cameron, who will be the chairman of the various sessions throughout the week.
