PGIHT-Tfl-POIHT STEEPLECHASE MEETING The Otago Hunt Club will hold its annual point-to-point steeplechase meeting to-morrow afternoon at North Taieri over the properties of Mrs A. K. Miller, Messrs J. Skinner, and ]>. Connor, placed at the club’s disposal for this fixture. There will be six events, the first, which is timed to start at 2.15, being the light-weight steeplechase, to be followed by the open steeplechase at 2.45, and the heavy-weight steeplechase at 3.15. These will be followed by two flat races, the first for lady riders at 3.45 and tbo second for riders at 4, the last event at 4.15 being a ladies’ hunters’ trial. An excellent steeplechase course has been arranged over practically all natural jumps, and the public can obtain a splendid view of the whole course from the natural grandstand on the hillside. A small charge will be made for admisison, but no charge will bo made for motor cars. Hunt Club members will be admitted free on production of member’s ticket. Afternoon tea can bo obtained at a tent, and programmes will ho on sale on the grounds. Corporation buses will leave Cargill’s monument for the grounds at intervals from 1.15, leaving for town at 4.30. Those intending to motor can either go out through Mosgiol and turn to the rmbt at Duko’s road or by way of Wakari and turn up the second road towards Wairongoa after crossing the blade bridge.
