ANNUAL MEETING The annual meeting of the Kiwi Defence Rifle Club was held last night, the president (Mr R. Bruce) occupying the chair. The annual report and balance sheet were adopted without discussion. The following officers were elected; — Patron, Sir James Allen; vice-patron, Captain A. Dempster; president, Mr R. Clayton; selectors—Messrs W. Pullar, A. J. Reid, A. K. Johnston, and P. Fennessy; handicappers Messrs 11. Bruce, A. K. Johnston, and D. Parsons; committee—Messrs W. Pullar, J. Al'Kinlay, W. Mills, A. J. Reed, J. Gillick, T. Quinn, A. Gillespie, H. Tattersfield, D. Paisons, R. Johnston, and F. W. Clayton; club captain, Air J. Gillick; deputy-captain, Air \V. Mills; vice-presidents—tho Alinister of Defence (Air F. Jones), Colonel E. R. Smith, Colonel G. Barclay, Captain Greville, Lieutenant M'Oormack, the Rev. E. T. Cox, Dr W. Evans, Messrs W. Donaldson, E. J. Denny, G. Newey, J. Rigby, I. Grant, H. W. lluntley, and D. G. Reid. It was decided to forward a recommendation to the National Rifle Association suggesting that once more the association should take up the question of free railway travel for competitors at rifle meetings. The opening date of the season was fixed for September 18.
