GARDEN—FA VEL. A quiet but pretty wedding took place at St. Matthew’s Church, Dunedin, on the evening of July 24, when Nancy Prudence, fourth daughter of Mr and Mrs T. E. Favel, Waikaka, Southland, was married to George Alexander, youngest sou of Mr and Mrs G. A. Garden, of Bucky, Banffshire, Scotland. The Rev. W. A. Hamblett officiated, with Mr J. Brockio at the organ. The bride, who was escorted by her father, was daintily attired in a gown of reptile satin, very close fitting, with a high neck line, and tight sleeves to the wrists; finished with large gauntlet cuffs. Her Brussels lace veil was attached to a halo of orange blossom, and she carried a bouquet of cream chrysanthemums, narcissi, and maidenhair fern. She was attended by her sister, Mrs W. M. Beveridge, of Green Island, as matron-of-honour, who was attired in Coronation pink silk lace, made on similar lines to the bride’s, with a small lace hat to match, and carried a shower bouquet of winter roses, abutilons, and maidenhair fern. The train bearer was the bride’s niece, little Gleneice Pavel, who wore an ankle length frock of coronation blue silk crepe and silver, with blue hair bandeau, and carried a small Victorian posy of primroses and maidenhair fern. The bridegroom was attended ,by Mr Geoffery Thomlinaon, Dunedin, as best man. A reception was later held at the residence of Mrs W. M. (Beveridge, Green Island, where the guests were received by the bride’s mother, who was attired in a frcu’t of navy dull finished satin, trimmed with navy and white spotted silk crepe Mr and, Mrs G. A. Garden left later for the north, where their honeymoon is to be spent, the bride travelling in a Burgundy tunic frock, coat and hat, with brown accessories. The future home of the young couple will be at Waikaka, Southland. SEELYE—POCOCK. On Tuesday, July 20, a quiet wedding was solemnised at First Church, Dunedin, when Ailsa Millicent, elder daughter of Mr and Mrs H. Pocock, To Kuiti, was married to Percy William, second son of Mr and Mrs W. P. Seelye, Montpelier, Dunedin. The bride was attended by her sister, Miss Betty Pocock, and Mr Henry , Seelye acted as best man. The Rev. W. A. Steveley officiated. A reception was held in the Tudor Lounge. The future home of Mr and Mrs P. W. Seelye will be in Gore.
