STATION TO BE ERECTED GRANT FROM BOARD AND STATE SUBSIDY [Pee United Press Association.] - WELLINGTON, July 1. , The Minister of Industries and Commerce, Mr ’ Sullivan, states that a recent conference at 'Motueka of the Tobacco Board, the growers, and Govern* ment representatives, decided on the immediate'purchase of 15 acres in the Nelson or Motueka district for the purpose of erecting a research station. The problem of the mosaic disease will be one of the first tackled. The Tobacco Board has undertaken to mako a grant of one-eighth penny per pound on the 1935-36 and 1936-37 crops to cover half the cost of the station. The Government will provide the rest by subsidy. Applications are to be called immediately ' for a director of the research station.
