' FAIR WITH LIGHT SHOWERS The following weather forecast was issued at noon by the Meteorological Office, Wellington, covering the southern districts—Dunedin, Port Chalmers, Tapanui, Winton, Invercargill, Riverton, Orepuki, Bluff, Halfmoon *Bay :-a Pressure remains high over the man Sea and the Dominion, hut shallow depressions are passing to the north. Forecast: Light to moderate and variable winds, with east to north-east predominating; weather mainly fair, but with scattered light showers or misty rain, more especially on the coast; temperatures cold; seas slight to moderate. . FINE BUT COLD. . Cold conditions again prevailed in Dunedin last night and this morning, although no frost'was recorded.- However, the morning was fine after, heavy rain overnight, during which .llin of rain fell. The maximum temperature to-day was 42deg and the • minimum 38deg, as compared with yesterday’s readings of 44.5 deg and 36.5 deg respectively. The barometer at noon was steady at 30. Sin.
