BRIGHTON CLUB The annual meeting of tho Brighton Bowling Club was held ou Monday night, the president (Mr D. Murdock) occupying the chair. There was a fair attendance of members. The Chairman extended a welcome to Mr G. A. Nelson, representing the Centre, and the club delegate (Mr A. Cook). . Moving tho adoption of the annual report and balance sheet, the Chairman congratulated the secretary on the satisfactory state of the bianco sheet, and stressed tho excellent sporting spirit prevailing amongst members. He trusted the coming season would be as enjoyable as the last.—Tho report was adopted. The election of officers resulted: — President, Mr S. Smith; vice-president, Mr D. Miller; secretary and treasurer, Mr C. Beck; committee —Messrs E. Dyason, C. Gillan J. M'Lauchlan. R. C. Wright, and J. Youngman; auditor, Mr J. M'Lauchlan; Selection and Match Committee —Messrs Smith, Blackwood, and Dyason; delegate to the centre, Mr Alexander Cook. It was decided that the club take part in the following competitions;— Centro Saturday matches, champion of champions, champion singles, handicap singles, silver fern challenge pairs. The remits from the Dunedin Centre were dealt with. A vote of thanks to the Centre Executive was passed by acclamation, members expressing appreciation of the interest taken by it in the small outlying clubs by visiting them and playing friendly matches. The visit to Brighton had been appreciated, and the club trusted that social visits would be continued during the coming season.
