WRESTLING
M'CREADY AND KIRILENKO Earl M'Cready in his 103 matches in New Zealand has met with some stiff opposition, but the one man who can he relied upon to test the British Empire champion to his utmost is the Cossack, Kirilenko. M'Cready has so far emerged victorious from all his bouts except one, and that largely the result of misadventure, but it is expected that Kirilenko, more than any opponent he has yet wrestled in New Zealand, will extend him. The Russian is strong, a swift and smooth mover, and the absolute master of a wide repertoire of holds, and in addition possesses an unorthodox and rugged attack, which is most disconcerting to his opponents. Kirilenko has shown that he measures up against the best wrestlers ever brought to New Zealand, and, indeed, very few men seen in New Zealand can be said to equal him. Overseas wrestlers now recognise that M'Cready is the idol of New Zealand wrestling enthusiasts, and the standard by which wrestlers are judged, so that Kirilenko, who realises what a decision over M'Cready would mean to him, is certain to spare no effort to come out on top. Kirilenko is a wrestler who has been responsible for damaging some very good wrestlers’ reputations, and, if not actually feared by opponents, is certainly held in great respect by every man who has ever tried conclusions with him. Further, particulars are advertised.
