Ford in the Hamp* stead ‘Parish Magazine.’ It will help you to avoid golf gambling if you say ‘ I can’t spare 2s to bet this hole but must send it to the parson.’ A friend told me: ‘ I can pray on the golf course as well as in church. I replied: ‘Maybe, but you don’t. In any case, the prayers used on the golf course would, if used in church, cracls the roof ,’ ”
