FAIR TO FINE The following weather forecast w*« issued at noon by the Meteorological Office, Wellington, covering the southern districts—Dunedin, Port Chalmera, Tapanui, Winton, Invercargill, River* con, Orepuki, Bluff, Halfmoon Bay:— Pressure continues to rise over New Zealand with the slow approach of an anti-cyclone over the Tasman Sea. A fall has commenced over eastern Australia. Forecast: Light to moderate and _ variable winds, southerlies predominating at first, but northeriies tomorrow. Weather fair to fine, milder day, but cold night temperatures, with some sharp frosts. HARDEST FROST IN YEARS. The atmospheric feature of a fin* week-end, typical of the season, was the hardest frost in years last night, 13-Jdeg. being recorded. Another sharp frost jvas experienced on Saturday, and, as was the case to-day, it ushered m a clear, sunny morning. Temperatures were affected by the visitations, the maximum recording yesterday being 34deg and the minimum reading the exceptional temperature of 28deg. The respective readings up to noon to-day, at which stage cloudy conditions indicated a change to rain, were 41deg and 34deg.
