BOGUS DEGREES
ALLEGED FORGED CERTIFICATE CHARGE AGAINST CMf ANY MANACII [Per United Press Association.] WELLINGTON, June 24. In the Magistrate’s Court to-day, Albert Fergus Stanley Hickey (38), a company manager, was charged on or about March 25, that, knowing a certificate dated ■ May 29, 1928, to bo forged and . purporting to be under the hand of the Melbourne University Refistrar certifying that Albert Fergus tanley Patten, who has since reverted to the paternal name of Hickey, had complied with the regulations of the degree of bachelor of science and qualified for admission to the degrees of bachelor of medicine and surgery, he attempted, to cause Charles Jehu Drake to act on it as genuine. There is also a charge of attempted suicide. , , ,
The police said the accused was arrested this morning,, and the remand they sought was granted.
