GOOD TEMPLARY
The Star of the South Juvenile Temple, No. 15 (1.0.G.T.), held its weekly meeting in the Oddfellows’ Hall, Kensington, on Tuesday, Chief Templar Sister P. Hollick presiding over a good attendance, Bro. K. Brooks, superintendent, being in charge. Three new members were initiated. Sister Hazelwood (Rescue Lodge, No. 105) spoke to the members. A vote of sympathy was passed to the family of the late Sister V. Cain, P.D.V.T., the members standing in silence. The following took office for the initiation competition :—Chief Templar, Sister C. Herbert; V.T., Sister L. North; Chaplain, Sister M. Gibbs; Marshal, Sister B. Ross. The superintendent an-uoim'-'-'d that the sale of work was postponed, and that the temple would meet as usual. Bro. W. Fleury and Bro. W. A. lies were reported to be favourably progressing in their illnesses. The Rescue Lodge. Morgan (secretary) and Bro. Anderson (assistant secretary), who regretted being unable to attend regularly at j>re-
sent. It was resolved that a letter bo sent to these brothers thanking them for their valuable services in the past. A motion was also passed that a letter be sent to Bro. and Sister Hall congratulating them on the birth of a son. Bro. E. Brookes, 5.1. W., reported on Star of the South, J.T., No. 15; also Sister Haezelwood (SIL.W.). The members stood in silence in respect to the memory of the late Sister V. Gain (P.D.V.T.), who had passed away since the last meeting. The Chief Templar reported on visiting Bro. W. A. lies, G.0.T.. and Bro. W. Floury, who were laid aside through illness, but were progressing favourably. The Special EffortCommittee announced that the sale of work to be held on Tuesday next would be postponed to the night of the lodge’s anniversary next month. Sister Boris and I. Miller and Sister R. Smith were appointed a kitchen committee for next meeting. The naval trophy was on show for the first time since' the lodge had won it. Sister M. Miller was given a hearty farewell on her departure for Invercargill. Sister Leishman and Sister Giles were cordially welcomed as visitors from Hope of Caversham, Lodge No 128.
