THE MARCUS SHOW
The Marcus Show at His Majesty’s Theatre attracted another large house last evening. Of its many features there is firstly the lavish splendour of the scenes and dressings, then there is speed and sureness with which one act, or “ episode ” as it is called in the programme, follows tho proceeding one. Thirdly there is the uniformly high standard of the whole entertainment. As is usual with a revue of any kind, dancing forms a large part of the entertainment and the Marcus _ Peaches are responsible for some very lively, not to say spectacular numbers. In addition there are a number of accomplished individual dancers, ranging from exponents of the “ tap ” to the eccentric. It would be difficult to select any one episode and name it the best,_ but mention must be made of the Six Tossing Belfords. Fid Gordon proves himself a violinist of no mean standing, and whether holding the instrument in the accepted way or in some grotesque position his playing is always good. The comedy side is lead by Ben M‘Atee, and the smart foolery between nim and his companions is both hilarious and spontaneous. Senorita Sofia Alvarez _is heard to advantage is some charming vocal numbers, and a host of dancers round off a most enjoyable programme. The programme will he continued till Saturday, when a new complete change will be presented for three nights.
