CHILD STRUCK BY BULLET, Struck in the'abdomen by a fragment' of a pea-rifle bullet which was fired at an empty tin and ricochetted upward, a child named Veronica White, aged six years, of Mangere, ■ was . admitted to Auckland. Hospital on Friday . night. An operation was performed and the Bullet, which had lodged in the child’s body,, was successfully removed. The girl was allowed to return to her home yesterday! A FRACTURED ARM. A married woman, 80 years of age, ' Ellen Waghorn, suffered a fractured left arm when she fell at her home, 33 Rankeilor street, South Dunedin, yesterday. She was admitted - to the Hos,vpital at 6 p.m. BOY’S DEATH. ... Graham John Chaplain, aged 16, died at his parents’ home at 15 Skibo street, Caversnam, early yesterday morning. The boy had been in, ill-health for some . years, and succumbed after a choking fit. An inquest will be held to-morrow morning. , . BROKEN COJU.ARBONE. , The opening run of; the Dannovirke hounds on Saturday was marred by.a mishap to the master, Mr W. H. Gaisford, whose mount rapped a fence, and, after skidding ■ for nearly a .chain oh landing, rolled over on its rider, who was temporarily knocked out. Mr Gaisford’s injury consists of a broken collarbone.—Press Association-^ FATAL HEAD-ON COLLISION.
