Forecast: Moderate to strong and squally winds between west and south, at times reaching-gel* force. Weather cold and changeable, with passing heavy - showers. Further snow on the ranges and hail in places. Seas rough, with a heavy south-westerly swell. - FURTHER RAIN THREATENING. Though the rains prevalent last evening ceased, early this morning, the sky was heavily overcast and occasional light showers fell later, while a heavy fall appeared imminent at noon."' Barometric pressure was falling ■ at 29.2 in at this time, while a strong gusty wind prevailed. Frost to the extent of l.Sdeg was recorded last evening, whil* rainfall over a 24-hour period was .27in. The temperature this morning until 12 o’clock were 48.9 deg and 44deg maximum and minimum respectively at th* Gardens, while the readings over 24 hours yesterday were 43deg and 36.9 deg,
