ANZAC DAY
OBSERVANCE TO WOW AiIRAHGEftEiiTS fOR BUKEEIH V-To-morrow the twenty-second anniversary of the epic- landing of the' New Zealand, Australian, and British forces at Gailipoli will be observed throughout the Dominion with fitting commemora-' tion services While Anzac Day marks the anniversary of that remarkable feat of arms, it has also been set aside as the national day of remembrance of those from this country who gave their lives in the Great War during the years 1914 to 1918, and of those who suffered injury: ; In Dunedin Anzac Day will be observed The principal service of the day will be held at the Town Hall at 3.30 to-morrow, under the auspices, of the Dunedin Returned Soldiers’ Association. The main address of the afternoon will be delivered by the Hon, W. Perry, M.L.C., who is- the Dominion president of the New Zealand Returned Soldiers’ Association. Earlier in the afternoon a brief commemoration service will take place at the Fallen Soldier’s Memorial -in the Queen’s Gardens, and will - be attended by members of the local military forces. At its conclusion wreaths will be placed on the Cenotaph. .. As is usually the case,' there will probably be a very large crowd on the streets to see the parade of returned soldiers, who; after attending the ceremony at the Queen’s Gardens, will march to the Town Hall service via Lower High street. Princes street, and the Octagon. Returned men are asked to parade at the R.S.A. Club at 2 o’clock sharp, wearing mufti and decorations.
Returned men have been asked to attend the evening service at First Church. Those who desire to attend are asked to meet at the main entrance at 6.15.
