MOTOR CYCLISTS AND OTHERS

TO THE EDITOR. Sir, —“ Standia ” says that if ho had the power he would not hesitate to use a shot gun on the motor cycle pests. He would be wasting good ammunition. I agree thoroughly with all he says, also with the writer who complains of an incident that happened at the cable tram terminus, when a speed hog actually blamed people for being on the road who were awaiting a car. What next, I wonder? These pests ought to be put in their place, and the best way to do it is for they public themselves to form pedestrian protection associations, where they can handle these important mafters in a business-like manner, and co-operate together in saving the lives of elderly people, young children, and other’s who are being killed or maimed in this country. Practically all corporation employees should be given power to report cases of speeding and the openexhaust fiends, who seem to take a delight in making as much noise as possible. I would adviso your two correspondents to write direct to the Minister of Transport (Mr R. Semple). I am personally doing so immediately. —I am, etc., Arthur Picard. April 22.
