TRAM TERMINUS.
TO TUB EDITOR. Sir,' —Are the present generation losing their respect for the elderly and aged ? It has for some time past been the practice of young people to occupy the seat at the Octagon terminus the Kaikorai tram. These youngsters, working in the vicinity of the Octagon, spend their lunch.,hours, especially in sunny weather, on this seat. Is it right that they should occupy the seat while elderly men and women waiting for the tram are forced to stand? The seat may not he the property of the tram company, hut it was placed by tho corporation for the convenience of passengers, and it should be regarded as such. Surely, with seating accommodation in the Queen’s Gardens, etc., and with an excellent Public Library, these young people could use their time to better advantage than in causing discomfort to others.—l am, etc., A.J.C, April 23.
