SPANISH MEDICAL AID

APPEAL FOR FUNDS The secretary-treasurer of the Spanish Relief Committee, 19 Waterloo street, acknowledges the following donations towards the cost of sending the three nurses to Spain:— Previously acknowledged £179 711

The committee appeals to everyone for the fullest possible support. Tho names of the nurses chosen will be announced next week, and, when it is known that these women have given up excellent positions in various New Zealand hospitals to go to the assistance of the wounded and tho sick in Spain, their wonderful courage and humanitarian motives should claim the admiration and support of all. The people of New Zealand are generous givers, and the committee relies upcm them to.give liberally to this fund and so ensure that their own nurses leave for Spain adequately equipped and supplied with large quantities of drugs and dressings. Drugs and dressings are scarce in Spain, and unless the shortage is made up by sympathisers everywhere thousands of the sick and wounded wil] undergo misery' and suffering, and many will die unnecessarily.
