The usual fortnightly meeting of Court Pride of the Leith was held on Wednesday last, when there was a good attendance of members, under the C. 11., Bro. A. J. Collins. Included in the routine business were letters of greeting from members further afield, and a grant was passed from the benevolent fund in aid of the widow of a late member. An invitation was accepted from Court Enterprise to its meeting on April 27. The C.R. extended a welcome to the visitors, and gave the usual toast, which was responded to by P.C.R. Bro. W. Bridges, secretary of Court Southern, and P.C.R. Bro. J. Smart, late secretary of Court Star of the Dunstan, and a veteran member of the United Otago District, in Clyde. The delegates gave reports on the proceedings of the last annual meeting of the district, and were thanked for same. The district secretary (Bro. J. K. Macfie) also gave a resume of the business transacted at the last annual meeting. The J.W., Bro. W, J. Mercer, was congratulated on his appointment to the Juvenile Council. During the meeting one new member was admitted, and the nominations of six candidates were accepted for the next meeting. Court King Edward's Pride bold its usual fortnightly meeting on Thursday last, when there was a good attendance of members, presided over by the G.R., Bro. Cranshaw. An invitation was accepted from Court Enterprise to attend j the opening social of that court. Con- 1 gratulations were extended to P.C.R. Bro. A. S. Dyke on his election as D.B. on the District Executive. One new member was admitted and four candidates were proposed and accepted for next meeting. At the close of the meeting a community sing was held, which proved very enjoyable. The usual fortnightly meeting of Court Excelsior was held in St. Mary’s Hall, Durham street, Mornington, on Tuesday last. T.P.C.R. Bro. G. D. Hay presided until the Chief Rangerelect, Bro. R. Lamb, was installed in office by P.D.C.K. Bro. Wahnsley. There was a good attendance of officers and members. P.C.R. Bro. Burgess, from Invercargill, was a welcome visitor. C.S. Bro. E. J. Dalton, and P.C.R. C. W. Patton gave an interesting report on the annual district meeting, which was held at Easter. The woodwards reported on the sick brethren. Arrangements arc well in hand for the juvenile social, to he held on 1 hursilay evening. Matters conducive to the welfare of the court were discussed ami considered.
