(Received April 9, at 9.30 a.m.) A message from Hershey (Pennsylvania) says that angry farmers entered the plant of Hershey Chocolate Corporation and expelled the tl sit-down strikers. The farthers, whose market for 800,0001 b of mi.lk daily had been destroyed as the result of the strike, were armed with sticks and clubs with which they' beat the ** sit-down strikers, many of whom were taken to hospital. The American Legion Brass Band headed the farmers. ACCIDENTS AND DEATHS NIGHTWATCHMAN DROWNED, James Alfred Button, nightwatchman on the Eastbourne ferry boats, was drowned in Wellington Harbour on Wednesday night. Button’s body was discovered near the wharf by a diver yesterday afternoon. Late the previous night the engineer found a hose running into the Muritai’s water tank, which was overflowing. It is thought that Button, hearing the tank overflowing, hurried to the wharf to turn the water off, but missed his footing and fell into the harbour. Button was middle-aged, and had a young family. At midday to-day the condition of Ella Le BrUn, who was admitted to the Hospital on Wednesday night suffering from Injuries received when she was knocked down by a motor car-, was unchanged. OLD MAN’S DEATH. The death occurred in the Hospital last evening of, Henry Hadlee, aged 89 years, who resided at 17 Greenock street, Kaikorai. He was admitted to the institution on March ,24 suffering from injuries to the hip received when he fell at his home. FRACTURED RIBS. Robert Edie, aged 67 years, residing at 253 Cargill road, fell against a concrete wall at his home yesterday, fracturing his ribs. He was admitted to the Hospital at 7 p.m. RAILWAYMAN INJURED. A young man, Colin Morris, a railway employee, aged 19 years, who resides at 58 Glasgow street, suffered a fractured left femur when he jumped from an engine in the railway yards this morning. He was admitted to the Hospital at 10.15 a.m. INJURIES TO CHEST. Alfred Gaul, aged 26 years, who resides at 9 Hayward street, was admitted to the Hospital at 11 a.m. to-day suffering from injuries to his chest. He was jacking up a motor car at Otago Motors, where he is employed, when the car slipped off the jack and caused the injuries.
