MINOR ASSOCIATIONS SOUTH CANTERBURY V. WEST COAST £Pek United Press Association.] GREYMOUTH, March 12. Play commenced to-day in the minor associations’ cricket trophy match between South Canterbury and the West Coast (holders). The wicket was soft following the overnight rain, and the weather was cloudy, with a mist at times. The home side opened well, having two wickets down for 149 runs, but then collapsed and was all out for 189 (P. Allen 27, M. Marshall 58, J. Peake 64, O. Morris 14, B. Marshall 11 not out). Eanvaker took four wickets for 57 and Gould four for 29. South Canterbury had lost one wicket for 63 at stumps (Morrison 35 not out).
