NORTH OTAGO WOMEN'S CLUB
A warm welcome was extended to the 65 members by the president (Mrs «J. M. Forrester) at the annual reunion of the North Otago Women’s Club. The floral decorations in tho lounge were greatly admired. The flowers had been supplied and the arrangements carried out hv Mrs,T. Kennedy (chairwoman of the gardening circle), and pale i.'.i;e Hydrangeas, pink dahlias, •rode* in, scabious, and sweet peas were blended into a rich ensemble. .Songs wore contributed by Mrs K. Familton and Miss C. Miller, and pianoforte solos by Miss I. Dawson, who acted as accompanist. A humorous reading of special interest to garden lovers was given by Miss litzgerald. Members also enjoyed a reading by Miss B. Butterfield, a former member who is at present visiting the town. During the afternoon Mrs Forrester explained various changes with regard t to the circle programme for the coining year, and also urged members to give their whole-hearted support to the .newlyformed North Otago Tree-planting Association. The Housing Committee, under the direction of Mrs W. J. Wylie, attended to the comforts of members and visitors, and tho' opportunity of meeting old friends was much enjoyed.
