DRUIDISM
The fortnightly meeting of Pride or Mornington Lodge, No. 14, was held in the Tram Sheds Hall on'Thursday last, A.D. Bb. Le Bran presiding over a good attendance of members. Several brothel's who had been on. the sick list were reported well again by the bards, 1 sick pay being very light. At this stage about 30 visitors from West Harbour, Linden, and Bay Lodges were admitted and accorded a very hearty welcome by the lodge. At the request of the A.I). a combined team from the visiting lodges carried out the initiation ceremony in a very efficient manner. Two new members were proposed, while clearances to the lodge were received for a’ further two brothers from Ohai. At the conclusion of the business progressive euchre was indulged in. Bro. Mitchell securing first prize, and Bro. Le Brim second. Otago Lodge met last Monday evening, when Arch Druid Bro. Harbour presided over a large attendance of members. Routine lodge business was quickly transacted, and then an adjournment was made for the social portion of the evening. This consisted of entertaining the Grand Lodge representatives in town for the annual meeting of the order. Bro. J. T. Leech and his musical party supplied a delightfpl ( programme, which met with the hearty approval of all present. During the evening Grand Secretary Bro. Steel welcomed home, and congratulations conveyed to Bro. Dove for honours received. Grand President Bro. Johnston and his officers were welcome visitors. The fortnightly meeting of Bay Lodgo was held in the Masonic Hall. St. Kild'a, on Monday, March 8. Arch Druid Bro. J. Hay presided over a good attendance of members. The correspondence included a letter from the Friendly Societies Council regarding the decision of the funeral directors of this city. The letter was freely discussed, and tho contents, noted. The Labour Debating Club wrote asking for a return 'debate. The invitation was accepted and arrangements made. Sick pay and accounts to the amount of £lO were passed for payment. One new ber was introduced and duly initiated into the rites of Druidism. Members reported on visits to various lodges. Bay Lodge mombes are requested to attend the meeting of April 5 in largo numbers.
